Time is a gift. A generous gift given to mankind. But it's also a gift that slips through our fingers. We don't realize how quickly time goes by until it is often too late. "Where did the time go?" is an expression that you often hear. "Why did I waste so much time?" is another. Time is relative. Time is universal. Time is also cultural. Some cultures value time. Other cultures do not. Some cultures have loads of time. Other cultures never have enough time. Who is happier? People who live in time oriented cultures or those who live in relationship oriented cultures? Most likely time and happiness have very little relationship. It is what you do with the time that you have that can offer fulfillment and satisfaction in life. When you look back at your life, do you ever want to say, "Gee, I should have spent more time working at the office." Or will you have some other response. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to say, "Ah, I spent my time well doing..." Get a grip on time otherwise time will get a grip on you and it won't let go. "Time is money", they often say. Or maybe it should be "Debt will steal your time." How about "Time is priceless." You can't buy more time no matter how rich or poor you may be. Do you think Elvis would have liked to have purchased more time? But alas, time is like olive oil that slips through your fingers. So enjoy it while you can. "Take time to smell the roses." Remember that old saying? There is some truth in it isn't there. So leave the office early tonight. Make less money. Pass up that promotion. Live more. Live longer. Eat right. Walk. Look up, not down. The floor is dirty. Oh, and that watch you are wearing or that cell phone in your pocket that acts as a time piece? Leave it at home some times. Then forget what time it is and live.
